About the event

Welcome to “DimpleFest 2024” - An in person Ceramic Painting Weekend Retreat! The first annual event is going to be JAM packed with everything you need to know about ceramics. Our instructors will be offering courses on everything ceramic throughout the weekend.  

Don’t wait to reserve your spot because seats are limited to just 20 guests.

All levels of painting abilities are welcome, especially beginners because we will be teaching all of the steps!  A certified ceramic instructor will be on hand to help with instruction and answer questions throughout the event.

  • Afternoon trip to the beautiful Shoshone Falls, Snake River Canyon and Petrine Bridge. 

Saturday night, we will be attending a group dinner at the restaurant “Elevation 486,” known for its farm-raised local Idaho trout and stunning views of the Snake River Canyon.   • Project Class Kits: This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Brushes) event!  If you’re like me, you need your favorite brushes when painting, so pack them up in a pencil box and bring them along. ;) All paints, pastels, sealers and embellishments will be included in the retreat cost.
  • Different painting medium classes: Guests will learn how to use acrylics, Stroke and Coat Underglazes, PanPastels, Antiquing Mediums, Colored Pencils, and Metallics
  • Electrical outlets at every table for chargers or lights if you would like to bring yours. We will be painting in an outdoor covered area, so there will be plenty of natural lighting.
  • Games, Prize Drawings, and tons of FUN!

The cost of this event EXCLUDES hotel and travel expenses.  Airfare and hotel expenses are not included, however local transportation to and from the Twin Falls airport and to and from the Hilton Garden Inn will be.

TRAVEL INFO

There is only one airport within 2 hours of Twin Falls.  Magic Valley Regional Airport has just two Delta flights per day that connect in Salt Lake City. Most flights connect through there. All flights MUST be booked in and out of this airport unless other transportation arrangements have been made.

FYI: Saturday and Monday are the best days to book travel for the lowest rates.

  • Arrival and pick up from airport
  • Welcome Meet and Greet/drinks at the hotel lobby 6-8pm

FRIDAY - June 21st, 2024

  • Pick up from the hotel 8:30am
  • Classes from 9:00am - 6:00pm
  • Lunch 12pm
  • Dinner at 7pm
  • Return to hotel 8:00pm

SATURDAY - June 22nd, 2024

  • Pick up from the hotel 8:30am
  • Classes Start at 9:00am - 6:00pm
  • Lunch at Noon
  • Group dinner at Elevation 486 at 7:00pm
  • Return to hotel 9:00pm

SUNDAY - June 23rd, 2024

  • Pick up from the hotel 8:30am
  • Classes Start at 9:00am - 3:00pm
  • Lunch at Noon
  • Afternoon outing to Shoshone Falls and the Snake River Canyon 3:00pm
  • Dinner at 6:00pm

MONDAY - June 24th, 2024

  • AM Pick up from hotel
  • Flight home

*Classes will be held at a private, off site location about 1 mile from the hotel and will be provided to paying guests only.

How to properly clean greenware. We will be cleaning the 16” ClayMagic Honeybee gnome, which will then be fired and packed to ship

  • How to use the color wheel to select basecoat and complimentary colors
  • How to mix colors
  • How lighting plays a critical role in shadows and highlights
  • We will be painting the entire Dona set of Halloween Sweet Tots ($160 value)
  • How to drybrush and the importance of using the correct brushes
  • How to use PanPastels to add shadows and highlights over acrylics
  • How to use Stroke and Coat Underglazes
  • How to throw clay on a pottery wheel
  • How adding fine lines, details and embellishments can dramatically increase the resale value of your hand painted goods
  • Where/how to search for inspiration
  • How to price your hand painted art for resale
  • How to package and ship fragile goods according to shipping company policies

PAYMENT PLANS:

There are a couple of different payment plans available.

  • Buy Now Pay Later - You can choose PayPal’s Buy Now Pay Later option for 6, 12, or 24-month payment plans, $0 down, and no sign-up or late fees.
  • Recurring Scheduled Invoices - After securing your seat with the $200 deposit, I will schedule monthly recurring invoices to split the remaining balance of retreat into 4 equal monthly payments or whatever fits your budget as long as it is paid by the final payment date.
  • ***No payment plans will be made after October 1, 2023, unless you contact me first.***
