glazing

Glazes are a thick suspension of minerals that are applied to the surface of bisque-fired ceramics by brushing, pouring, or dipping.

After the glaze dries, the piece is kiln fired to the temperature at which the glaze ingredients will bind together to form a high gloss colored surface.

why glazing is amazing

ugh, Glazing

Although the finished product will look amazing, glazing is not for the impatient.  Glazed bisque must be left to dry and fire in the kiln, therefore taking up to 3-4 days for completion and because glazes don't melt together until the firing, they can sometimes produce  unsuspecting  and unwanted outcomes.
